Richard halvey

Richard Halvey was born in Amsterdam, NY in 1953. He is the oldest of seven children. He was involved in athletics in high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. He had a scholarship to attend the University of Buffalo where he studied Geography and Economics. He moved to Colorado to obtain his MA in Geography and Urban Planning. He spent 20 years at the Colorado Department of Health and Environment working on State air pollution compliance plans. He also spent 20 years working at the prestigious Western Governors’ Association where he specialized in Energy issues. He was well known and respected by government officials, environmentalists and energy producers. He ghosted on writing a number of reports on issues important to the Governors and the Western states and was honored for his writing ability. He wrote for magazines, law journals, and environmental magazines. While at the WGA he was also lauded for his work with the Mexican Government to improve air quality. Since his retirement he has worked as a golf course ranger. He has written two fictional books, The Kingpins of Riverbend and In a Time of Sorrow and Change, that have been well received.
